一． 冠詞在句中的位置及分類

冠詞主要放在名詞之前，說明名詞所表示的人或物，它不能離開名詞而單獨(dú)存在。冠詞分為不定冠詞和定冠詞。不定冠詞有a和an，定冠詞只有the.

二． 不定冠詞的用法

1. 在敘述時(shí)用于第一次提到的某人或某物之前。This is a book.

2. 泛指人或事物的某一類別，以區(qū)別于其他種類。A plane is a machine that can fly.

3. 泛指某人或某物。A girl is waithing for you.

4. 用于表示時(shí)間、速度、價(jià)格等意義的名詞之前，有“每一”的意思，相當(dāng)于every.

two kilometers an hour;five lessons a week;twice a month

5. 用在某些物質(zhì)名詞或抽象名詞之前，表示“一陣、一份、一場(chǎng)、一類”等。

There’ll be a strong wind in South China.

6. 用于可視為一體的兩個(gè)名詞前。A knife and fork

7. 用在某些固定詞組

A few/little/bit;have a swim/walk/talk/look/dance/drink/rest;have a cold;have a good time;in a hurry;for a while;keep a diary;do sb. A favor.

三、定冠詞的用法

1、表示雙方都知道的人或事物。Give me the book,please.

2、表示特指的或上文已經(jīng)提到過的人或者事物。Do you know the girl in red?

3、表示世界上獨(dú)一無二的事物。The earth moves around the sun.

4、用在序數(shù)詞、形容詞最高級(jí)前面，以及對(duì)特定的兩個(gè)人或事物進(jìn)行比較時(shí)的比較級(jí)前。

The first lesson is very easy.

She is the most careful student in our class.

He is the younger of the two boys.

5、用在姓氏的復(fù)數(shù)名詞前表示一家人或夫妻倆。The Greens are watching TV.

6、用在單數(shù)名詞前表示一類人或事物。The orange is orange.

7、用在江河、海洋、山脈、群島、沙漠等專有名詞前，或用在有普通名詞構(gòu)成的專業(yè)名詞前。

8、與某些形容詞連用表示一類人。The rich should help the poor.

9、用在表示方位或者西洋樂器名詞前。Ji lin is in the north of China.

I like playing the piano.

10、用在某些固定詞組中

In the morning/afternoon/evening;in the daytime;in the end;all the time;at the same time;by the way;in the open air;at the age of;at the begining of;on the other side of;in the middle of;at the moment

四、零冠詞的用法

1、不可數(shù)名詞和復(fù)數(shù)名詞表泛指時(shí)用零冠詞

Man can’t live without water.

Horses are domestic animals.

2、某些專有名詞，如人名、地名、國(guó)名、物質(zhì)名詞、抽象名詞等表示泛指時(shí)前面為零冠詞。

China is a great country.

Mary lives in New York

3、名詞前已有指示代詞、物主代詞、不定代詞或名詞所有格等修飾時(shí)。

Every student likes English in our class.

4、用在表節(jié)日、日期、星期、節(jié)日、月份、季節(jié)等前面，但若特指某年的某個(gè)月或某年的某個(gè)季節(jié)，就要加the.

June 1 st is Children’s day.

Spring comes after winter.

That event happened in the spring of 1932.

5、稱呼和表示頭銜的名詞前用零冠詞

This is Professor Li.

What’s wrong,Granny?

6、三餐、球類及學(xué)科名詞前用零冠詞

I went to school without breakfast this morning.

He often plays basketball after school.

7、與by連用的交通工具名詞前用零冠詞。

By car;by train;

8、公共假日、節(jié)日名詞前用零冠詞

New Year’s day;Women’s Day

9、某些固定詞組

day and night ;face to face;side by side;step by step;in danger;in bed;in time;at noon/night/dawn;on duty/watch
