基本概念

冠詞是一種虛詞，是最典型的限定詞，本身不能單獨(dú)使用，只能附在一個(gè)名詞上幫助說(shuō)明名詞的含義，是名詞的一種標(biāo)志。an用于以元音音素開(kāi)頭的單詞前，而a用于以輔音音素開(kāi)頭的單詞前。例如：an apple, an orange, a book, a mountain

注意以下幾種情況：

u的發(fā)音有兩種。

發(fā)/ju:/時(shí)，單詞前用a (useful, university, unit, European)發(fā)/ʌ/時(shí)，單詞前用an (umbrella, ugly, uncle, unusual)②常見(jiàn)首字母不發(fā)音的有anhour, anhonest boy。ƒ單獨(dú)字母前的a和an的選用請(qǐng)記住一句話：Mr. Li has one fox.字母在這句話里面的用an，不在里面的用a。所以以下12個(gè)字母(A/a, E/e, I/e, O/o, F/f, H/h, L/l, M/m, N/n, S/s, X/x, R/r)前用an來(lái)限定。

例如：There is an “m”, an “a” and a “c” in the word “mooncake”.④ 數(shù)字前用a還是an，需要注意該數(shù)字所代表的英文單詞的首個(gè)因素的發(fā)音。

1.在敘述時(shí)用于第一次提到的某人或某物之前，表示“一個(gè)”，常修飾單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞。

例如：

Here is a map of the United States。

2.泛指人或事物的某一類(lèi)別，以區(qū)別于其他種類(lèi)

例如：

A plane is a machine that can fly.

3.用在某些物質(zhì)名詞或抽象名詞前，表示“一陣，一份，一類(lèi)，一場(chǎng)”等。

例如：

There will be a strong wind in South China.

4.用于價(jià)格，數(shù)量，比例等，表示“每一”.

例如：They cost 50 pence a kilo.

5.用在序數(shù)詞前，表示“又一、再一”。

例如：I have three books. I want to buy a fourth one.

6.用于固定詞組中。

have a look，a lot of，have a good time，

a few，in a hurry，for a while，

keep a diary，take a bus，as a result，

have a rest，etc.

定冠詞the

用法：

1.用于談話雙方都清楚的名詞前

Tom, come to the blackboard, please.

2.表示特指的或上文已提到過(guò)的人或事物

There is a book on the desk.

3.和一些名詞連用，表示類(lèi)別。

The light bulb was invented by Edison.

4 .表示世界上獨(dú)一無(wú)二的事物

The earth moves around the sun.

5.用于形容詞的最高級(jí)或序數(shù)詞前，以及對(duì)兩個(gè)人或事物進(jìn)行比較時(shí)起特指作用的比較級(jí)前。

Tom is the tallest in our class.

Jack is the fatter of the two boys.

6.用于姓氏的復(fù)數(shù)前，表示“一家人”或“夫婦”

The Greens are at breakfast table.

7.與某些形容詞連用，表示一類(lèi)人或事物。

The young should help the old.

8.用于江、河、海洋、山脈、群島、沙漠等專(zhuān)有名詞前，或用于由普通名詞構(gòu)成的專(zhuān)有名詞之前

the Great Wall, the United States, the UK

9.用在表示方位、西洋樂(lè)器名稱(chēng)的名詞之前

Guangdong is in the south of China.

I like playing the piano.

10.用在表示某個(gè)世紀(jì)的某個(gè)年代的時(shí)間名詞前

in the 1980s

11.由festival組成的中國(guó)特有的節(jié)日前

The Mid-Autumn Festival is on Aug. 15th.

12.用在某些固定詞組中

in the morning, by the way,

in the end,at the age of,

all the time, on the right
