It used to sound like a dream. but space tourism(太空旅游)is becoming a reality.
On Sept. 15,2021,four civilians(平民) 1 (send) into space by US space tech company SpaceX. It kicked off the company's new space tourism business. The four spent three days in space and flew even 2 (far) out than the International Space Station. Just two months_3(early),in July,70-year-old British billionaire(億萬(wàn)富翁)Richard Branson, and 57-year-old American billionaire Jeff Bezos, both flew into space by the spacecraft developed by 4 (they) own companies.
A new era(時(shí)代) of private space travel seems ready to take off. 5 some think these trips are just“joyrides(兜風(fēng))”for the super-rich.It's a “billionaire space race"instead of“civilian space travel", they said.
According to Forbes, one open seat on Jeff Bezos'Blue Origin rocket cost $28 million at auction(拍賣)in June. As to the SpaceX trip,Time magazine 6 (say) all four seats cost $200 million.
With the sky-high 7 (price), should common people give up on their space dreams? Maybe not. US flight engineer Bobak Ferdowsi 8 (believe)that the"billionaire space race”trend(趨勢(shì))won't last forever, and that the price will come down.“Maybe in 10 to 15 years,it will be a 9 (decide) between‘do I buy a new car?’ and‘do I go to space?'We should get ready 10 a future that allows us to live somewhere else.”
